Digital Journey - A Way to Go

Way To Go is a brilliantly, and slightly addictive, digital journey.

This apparently simple walk in the woods on your computer screen is actually an expanding panorama, a mixture of hand-made animation, 360˚ video capture and music.

Firstly it only seems to work on the Chrome web browser but it is worth installing Chrome just to give the wonderful and expansive animated story a try.

You are presented with a forest, a track drawn through the trees, a charming hand-drawn character and the ability to walk, run and jump.  You can explore.  There are things to see here - sumptuous animations, video captures, digital worlds.  A curious mixture of flat animation and real video.  One moment you are running through the video forest and the next you are joined by others, running with you - except these are 'people' who look a little like you but in a different colour.

Just give it a go - it will make sense.  What is nice is that the journey appears endless.  You can get to a point and exit there, or carry on into a slightly more abstract world.

Created by Vincent Morisset, Philippe Lambert, Édouard Lanctôt-Benoit & Caroline Robert (AATOAA). The project has been produced by the NFB & France TV.
